Injectables and Fillers

Operating rooms, anesthesia, and surgical knives can be daunting. Many patients want to restore their facial appearance but do not want to undergo surgical procedures such as facelift or eyelid surgery. As more technologies and treatments become available, new options for targeting facial aging have come to light that are less invasive and require minimal downtime. Injectables are among the most requested non-surgical treatments. Dr. Taylor can effectively provide a “non-surgical facelift” by combining prescription-only injectable skin treatments. Patients can address unwanted changes caused by aging, heredity, and sun exposure to create a rejuvenated appearance.

FAQs

  • Who is the best candidate for injectables?

A patient who wants to target signs of aging without undergoing an invasive procedure such as facelift surgery may be an ideal candidate for injectable treatment. It is important that patients are physically healthy, don’t smoke, and have realistic expectations.

  • What are the risks and complications associated with injectables?

Although rare, some risks and complications associated with injectables include:

    • Swelling
    • Bruising
    • Numbness
    • Bleeding from the injection site
    • Skin redness
    • Asymmetry
  • Are the results from injectables permanent?

The results from injectables are long lasting; however, they are not permanent. Patients who undergo follow-up treatments and practice a healthy skin care regimen are more likely to experience a longer-lasting outcome.

  • Can injectables be combined with other plastic surgery procedures?

Many patients decide to undergo surgical procedures, such as facelift surgery, neck lift surgery, and fat transfer surgery, along with their injectable treatments.

  • How long do injectable treatments take?

Injectables are quick, minimally painful procedures that are performed in-office within one hour. Patients can return to work and regular activities immediately following their injections. It is important that patients avoid sun exposure and touching the treatment area for the first few weeks for the best results.
