Endermologie®

The first FDA-approved treatment for the reduction of cellulite, Endermologie® is a signature, non-surgical service at our Los Angeles plastic surgery practice. Originally developed two decades ago, the technique has been the subject of extensive clinical trials and has received the stamp of approval from a variety of reputable medical authorities.

How does Endermologie work?

Endermologie is a mechanized device that utilizes two motorized rollers and regulated suction. Using the device, Dr. Taylor will create a symmetrical skin fold to initiate deep tissue mobilization; this results in the reduction of cellulite and, potentially, subsequent loss of inches.

Who is a candidate for Endermologie?

If your diet and exercise have rendered ineffective in the fight against cellulite, you may be a good candidate for the treatment. Additionally, Dr. Taylor may advise you to follow up with Endermologie if you have recently undergone liposuction for body sculpting purposes (liposuction is not an effective treatment for cellulite, as it targets the deeper layers of fat).

Conversely, Endermologie treats the subcutaneous layer of skin near the surface that is typically responsible for the presence of cellulite – the area that most other treatments fail to target. Often, the treatment effectively addresses adherent scars on the skin as well (as was its original purpose).

He recommends combining the two procedures because Endermologie may significantly reduce potential liposuction irregularities. Additionally, it can optimize results to help the skin appear far smoother and tighter following your liposuction recovery. However, Endermologie is still highly effective when performed as a stand-alone method. Patients who do not need or desire liposuction are often very satisfied with the results.
