Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty, is a common surgical procedure that removes deposits of excess fat from specific areas of the body, face or neck. Liposuction can be used to slim the hips, thighs, flatten the tummy, shape the calves and ankles or eliminate a double chin. Dr. Taylor incorporates ultrasonic liposuction to obtain the best results in body contouring. This most advanced type of liposuction allows for removal of greater amounts of fat in a gentler, safer fashion with less post-operative pain, bruising and swelling. During ultrasonic liposuction, fat is removed more efficiently and less traumatically by utilizing sound waves to liquify the fat under the skin. This allows for the safe removal of higher volumes of fat and results in a final appearance that is generally smoother and more impressive than that seen with traditional liposuction techniques. This technique is particularly useful for sculpting a woman's abdomen, hip, and flank area or any portion of a man's body, including the breast tissue in the male chest.
